About The Birches Bed and Breakfast

The Homer family proudly wants to invite interested visitors to stay at their family homestead, which consists of 6 acres of panoramic ocean frontage in beautiful Southwest Harbor, Maine.

The Old House is over 110 years old, and The Birches was built as a summer cottage in 1916. This summer cottage was built by Martha Brown Fink and was bought by the Homers in 1950. Extensive renovations in 1974 have produced a year round house reminicent of Maine at its best.

Your Hosts Dick and Rocky will welcome you to one of their lovely guestrooms, and you will be served a wonderful breakfast, great conversation, and an informative discussion about the Island's tourist spots. Enjoy large airy rooms, private baths, ocean views, gardens, and the croquet court. We have 6 acres of grounds, no traffic noise, and it is just 350 yards to the first tee at the golf course.
